I for one thing believe that abraham esther hicks is the real deal. But it’s not like magically getting winning lottery tickets, or being psychic or anything like that. It’s more about how you feel and what you emote.

Question by defOf: Where is the secret going to lead America ? Can a Christian take advice from “Abraham” ?
“The Secret is the law of attraction!” declares Byrne, the director behind the movie who works with “Abraham”-Hicks. “Everything that’s coming into your life you are attracting into your life. And it’s attracted to you by virtue of the images you’re holding in your mind. It’s what you’re thinking….” “Abraham” is the self-named group of disembodied beings that is supposedly channeled through Esther Hicks.
This “secret of attraction” has a simple explanation. When we seek forbidden thrills and forces, Satan is ready to answer. In Old Testament days, God protected His people from the full onslaught of such forces as long as the nation followed Him and His loving guidelines. But when they rejected His guidelines and sought the occult thrills of pagan neighbors, He withdrew His protection. Left to their own meager resources (law of attraction), the nation of Israel was destroyed by Babylonian armies.
Would God ever withdraw His protection over America?
The demonic realm, which used to be distant and non-threatening, now crouches near. Occult books, games and movies show children how to empower themselves by summoning demons. My bad. By law of attraction, I mean the universal law of attraction (which is part of a new age movement of thinking) that states that the things that you give the most thought to will manifest themselves in your life by "law."

I discovered this principle after watching "The Secret" and listening to the Abraham-Hicks tapes. I’m into spiritual stuff so these interested me and made sense on that kind of level. But my question remains, in general, is it possible to change others using the law of attraction or is the law limited to an extent by other people’s free will? If so, could you just "attract" thoughts that would give you possibile ways to convince others to change (through their own free will of course), which would allow you to attract them the way you originally intended? I’m sorry if this is a complex question…it’s just been bugging me.

Not that I need it. I just think this is quite interesting.

I did a persuasive speech on The Secret in my college speech class so I might be able to help you. Now, I don’t really believe in everything the book says but I was able to boil it all down to some key points that seemed valid.

I think it’s possible to work in this way: if you act more positive and confident and do whatever it is that makes you look and feel attractive then there is a better chance that you will attract people to you. This isn’t anything new, if some 12 y.o. in the singles and dating section was asking how to get an 8th grader to notice her, I would give the same advice.

I have some friends that despite the fact that they are perfectly decent-looking, have never dated because they constantly have this attitude like "yeah right, who would ever like me". Therefore, they don’t put as much of an effort into their appearance or into making themselves approachable so of course, they never get asked out.

the law of attraction has been conceptualised since the turn of the 20th century. for some people it works, but for the skeptics it won’t. essentially "if you really want something and truly believe it’s possible, you’ll get it", but putting a lot of attention and thought onto something you don’t want means you’ll probably get that too.

Larry King criticised it for several reasons. he pointed to the sufferings in the world and asked: "if the Universe manifests abundance at a mere thought, why is there so much poverty, starvation, and death?

exactly my thoughts.

on the other hand, Jerry and Esther Hicks ( New Thought writers since the 80′s) made a film out of it called the secret. it’s nothing but a series of misquotations from historical figures and fraudulent maxims from no-count hucksters. it is actually a mix of misunderstood quantum physics and a re-telling of "New Thought" fallacies, which have been around since the late 18th century.

personally, i still go with the proven law: The Golden Rule ( Ethic of Reciprocity) …in short ‘do to others what you would like to be done to you’

Who Is Abraham Hicks And How Does He Teach law of attraction

Abraham Hicks is the energy personality essence channeled by Esther Hicks. Esther hicks is an inspirational teacher and best selling author. She translates blocks of thought for Abraham, a group of non-physical beings. Esther Hicks holds workshops and writes books while she channels Abraham. She has several excellent books out, including The Law of Attraction and The Astonishing Power Of Emotions. These were featured on the New York Times best seller lists.

Abraham says that we create our own reality with our own thoughts and emotions. Our emotions are our own inner guidance telling us what we want and what we don’t want. Abraham also says that life is supposed to be fun. Here are some of the core teachings of Abraham;

1. You are a physical extension of source energy, that which is non-physical
2. The basis of your life is freedom and the only purpose of life is to experience joy
3. You’re the main actor or actress in your life. You’re the creator. And you create with your thoughts.
4. Anything you are able to imagine is yours to experience, be, to do, or to have
5. You choose your creation as you are choosing your thoughts
6. The Universe adores you. It knows your deepest and broadest intentions
7. All is well so just relax into your natural state of well being
8. Money is a byproduct of your focus on joy
9. You’re the creator of thoughtways on your individual path of joy and well being
10. You cannot die. You essentially are everlasting life

These teachings are very uplifting and empowering. They are very different from the religious teachings that most of the world has experienced. They empower each person to be able to experience more joy in life. Some people don’t believe that Abraham exists and question if Esther Hicks isn’t just making things up. They say that channeling is not true and it is hocus pocus. We do not have any proof if Abraham Hicks does exist, but one thing for sure, Esther Hicks has some very important information to share and that information is very uplifting and inspiring. Maybe she just has a unique way of accessing a part of her brain or her mind to be able to share that experience. Who knows for sure?

In my opinion, there are many things in life that have no proof. And the source or how that information is obtained is not so important as the information itself. If someone were to give you a key to a brand new castle, would you care who gave it to you? If it were yours to own forever would you care? Abraham Hicks definitely has inspired thousands, and Abraham Hicks publications are definitely worth reading if you’re interested in learning more about the law of attraction.

Esther Hicks holds various workshops and cruises throughout the year where she personally channels Abraham. In the workshops, she gives various people a chance to sit in the “hot seat” and ask their most pressing questions. Abraham Hicks is one of my personal favorites.

Most people have the desire to increase how much money they bring in every week or month. It seems like many live paycheck to paycheck and struggle having enough at the end of the month. However, we also feel like we need money to survive, but this isn’t the right mentality to have in regards to money. Attracting money requires having the correct mindset on what money is in life. You have to be fine with having nothing, but also happy with overabundance. Then you will attract money.

One part of the law of attraction says “like attracts like”, so if you desire more, you need to appreciate money in the right way. Money isn’t good or bad, and it can be used for good and bad things. We often use money as various excuses for mistakes we make or when we are afraid of certain responsibilities. None of these are ways to go about attracting money in life.

If you want to attract money, it means getting to know it better. It means putting everything into it, which means your heart, soul, and mind. This is a well balanced love and it won’t respond to demands. They are almost like a wish and you ask in such a way. It means you are fine with receiving nothing. You can’t feel stupid asking for more, because then it won’t be attracted to you.

One idea is to use a symbol or picture to remind you of dreams and goals. It means visualizing money so it is attracted to your life. You also need to think through your actions and some recommend meditating. Attracting money means believing in the process, but it isn’t going to fall into your life. It can take some effort and time for you to attract money.
