Law of Attraction Warning !

Im 15 and living at home with my family. I want to move homes as soon as possible. I know the law of attraction works but what affirmations / thoughts etc… should i be having / doing in order to move homes without it being put up for sale ?

There is no law of attraction, it was a gimmick to sell books.

i got a bit confused watching THE blimmin SECRET.

so basically, the LoA states that when you ask, and you believe you will get what you asked for, accompanied with unwavering faith and positive feelings as if you already have it, you will receive it. the universe will ‘re-arrange itself’ to provide that which you asked for.

it says in the scriptures, "ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be open unto you…." what if it wasnt God’s plan for you to have that thing you always wanted? where is God’s place in the law of attraction?

please enlighten me. i know it sounds rather dumb, but i must be (just for today).
btw, in the last bit, they did mention God being a form of energy.

rac, i sort of get your drift. this is what i find confusing:

GOD -He has the power to make things happen that are right [or a part of his plan and purpose].
LOA- The universe has the power to make things happen, whether it is right or wrong, if you ask and believe that it’s going to be yours.

GOD- If we ask for that which is wrong, God will not help us to get it.
LOA- It seems to me, and correct me if I am wrong, that in the LoA, whatever we ask for, we shall receive. Does the universe recognize whether our desires are right or wrong? beats me

Say I want to have a flash car, the LOA holds that as long as I think of it constantly, and I feel good and believe it’s going to happen, I will receive it. However, if it isn’t God’s will, if it’s not part of God’s plan for me to have that flash car, then I wont have it.

Uh… The law of attraction is flawed in a sense that you don’t always get what you want. So, does that mean that you didn’t want it hard enough, or did God intervene?

I think that the Secret is God, and it’s mostly just reaping what you sow. Put your positive energy out there, and you will be blessed.

Yeah. It was like a documentay of some sort; about cause and effect. It’s called "the secret".
It said that some actions or feelings can be compounded if i’m not careful. If I’m positive i will be surrounded with positive things. If I am negative, i will be surrounded with negative things and experiences. It was the one that said that if I imagined having the car of my dreams, i can trick my mind into really having it today, causing an attraction in the universe that will one day allow for me to have it in real life?

Is there any truth in this?

Should I really believe that?

Here it is short and sweet.

Yes you can have it but:

You really have to believe you will get it.
You really have to believe you are worthy of it.
You really have to believe God wants it for you

The reason things take so long to manifest is because we are so full of doubt.

before I help other’s and presently in many ways I can, however am presently on a new path to self improvement.

For all the time that mankind has dominated this planet, it is our minds that have made us master of all living things in this world, from the animals to the plants and trees. It is the one thing that differentiates us from them, our ability to think and rationalize everything has always made us special. But despite that, the mind has its various planes or aspects that we, mankind itself, have limited or insufficient knowledge or understanding as to its power. To date, many medical professionals and other personalities who deal with the studying of the mind.

Presently, people are now more aware of the mind power that we possess. We know that mind power is the conscious mind that we have, the way we think. Many people believe that with mind power, with its infinite capabilities, people are capable of doing anything.

Mind power is a dual system that variably includes the power of your thought (your brain) and the much debated subconscious mind. As far as anyone goes, we all have different degrees of subconscious mind power, be it as minute display such as hugging your mother, hoping to get a treat or an extra allowance.

Your mind power and your subconscious mind are the ones who work hand-in-hand so they can create what you have been forming in your mind. Let’s use a similar situation to help you visualize how this works. Your subconscious mind power is similar to fertile soil that consents to any seed planted inside it. Your habitual thoughts and beliefs are the seeds which are being continually sown and they will eventually produce a crop. So if you plant weeds you will get weeds, if you plant fruit, you will get fruit. In other words, you reap what you planted. Now, the conscious mind is the gardener, and it is the mind power to choose what reaches our inner garden- the subconscious.

Despite all that, most of us do not have the “green thumb” to cultivate the positive ideas to grow in our subconscious. Our ignorance in controlling the kind of thoughts that comes in to our subconscious comes from the fact that we lack familiarity of the laws that govern this concept. The psychology behind this success or failure is because of the said ignorance we have. That it is only us that have given the permission for all these sorts of ideas to enter. So our subconscious mind power will manifest failure, ill health and all kinds of adversities just as easily as it will create successes and great fortune for us. However, it cannot manifest it both at the same time, which is why the need to constantly concentrate on the positive until the prolific soil of your subconscious mind power reaps only abundance. This sure vindicates for us that success is sure just a matter of choice for us.

Just Dream Big and Believe: When Did it Start

That is what the law of attraction is saying to those who would listen. If you want something bad enough to truly wish for it, then it will come to you. Granted, this concept has gained a massive amount of popularity – not to mention followers – in the years that passed, but have you ever stopped to think about the law of attraction history? These ideas don’t just pop out of nowhere, so where did they come from, exactly? According to reports, law of attraction history dates back to the early 19th century New Thought movement, but a lot of people think that it actually preceded that time and that the 19th century timeline is merely when the belief started gaining international attention and had works published about it.

It has been said that law of attraction history can be traced to a concept that was found originally in Hinduism and that it had a large effect on Hindi Theosophy, as evidenced by passages regarding the law of attraction as an ideal, which can be found in the Hindu Theosophical History Text. However, the law of attraction was actually first mentioned using that exact term in a book that is as far to Hinduism as it can get. This was a book on esoteric mysteries that was written in the year 1877 by a woman named Helena Blavatsky. Several other books talked about this ideal but a lot of them didn’t call it by its name and usually only discussed it as a concept or thought. For example, Chapter 23 Verse 7 of the Jewish Book of Proverbs states that “as man thinketh in his heart, so he is”, which is really a summation of the theory of laws of attraction.

Several books released in the 1900s contributed to the recognition that this concept has attained, in particular William Walker Atkinson’s 1906 manuscript entitled “Through Vibration or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World”. In this tome, he talked at length about the theory and how it works. Other notable mentions of the exact term “law of attraction” goes to the Theosophical writers William Quan Judge and Annie Besant in 1915 and 1919, respectively.

However, law of attraction history calls out the recent turn of century, the year 2000 as the era of “the secret”, which is a euphemism for the law of attraction. The release of the movie and book of the same name called the attention of some really big names to believe in it, which caused the widespread immense popularity such as is known in today’s modern world.

However controversial the theory of the law of attraction is even today, it cannot be denied that the idea has spanned centuries and shows no sign of waning. This means those people who believe in it must be on to something.

I’ve read the book a few times and have seen the movie a lot of times. I believe in it. I’ve been taking baby steps because it’s a very different way of thinking for me. the law of attraction has been conceptualised since the turn of the 20th century. for some people it works, but for the skeptics it won’t. essentially "if you really want something and truly believe it’s possible, you’ll get it", but putting a lot of attention and thought onto something you don’t want means you’ll probably get that too.

Larry King criticised it for several reasons. he pointed to the sufferings in the world and asked: "if the Universe manifests abundance at a mere thought, why is there so much poverty, starvation, and death?

exactly my thoughts.

on the other hand, Jerry and Esther Hicks ( New Thought writers since the 80′s) made a film out of it called the secret. it’s nothing but a series of misquotations from historical figures and fraudulent maxims from no-count hucksters. it is actually a mix of misunderstood quantum physics and a re-telling of "New Thought" fallacies, which have been around since the late 18th century.

personally, i still go with the proven law: The Golden Rule ( Ethic of Reciprocity) …in short ‘do to others what you would like to be done to you’
